Long Lived Dog:
Average life of dogs is between 8 to 15 YEARS. ‘Bluey – the Australian cattle dog lived 29 years and 5 months and put to sleep on November 14, 1939.
Heaviest Dog:
St.Bernard weighed 310 Ib on December 3 1984,
Most Valuable Dog:
‘Marathon Hound’ Grey hound was sold for 1,25,000/- dollars in August 1984.
Rarest Breed:
A sled dog the Chinook from New Hampshire with only 76 known is now the rarest.
Fastest Dog:
The saluki is used in Arabia to hunt gazelles and has recorded a speed of 43 mph.
Tallest Dog:
Great Dane ‘Shamgret Danzas’ stood 42 inches. Next wolfhound.
Smallest Dog:
Yorkshire terrier which was a match box-sized died in 1945 aged nearly 2 years. Wiight was an incredible 4 OZ.
Largest Litter:
By ‘Lena’, a fox hound bitch welphed to 23 puppies which all survived.
Largest legacy:
Miss Ella Wendel of NYC who left Rs.75 Million Dollars in 1931 to her scandard poodle ‘Toby’.
