TRIBUTE TO ZIMBA

They are the only species that do not know that they are risking their precious  lives in the search of  disastrous things just to save the human lives.

A TRIBUTE TO

         ZIMBA

THE DOG WHO SAVED SO MANY LIVES AND DETECTED MORE THAN 600 CRIMES!

I have always been amazed to see the Army / Police dogs.
Sometimes it has surprised me to see  the way they  behave during our clinical practice.
When we insert the hypodermic needle while injecting the drug , they  never even shake their head but accept the pain with discipline. The kind of training they undergo can even be compared with  a human undergoing a rigorous  army training.
You would have also seen none other than these three breeds serving the Army / Police squad- the German Shephered, the Doberman and our great friend the Labrador. These three breeds are considered  to be very intelligent and  to have the best olfactory sense compared  to other breeds. In fact the breeder Louis Doberman wanted to create the most intelligent dog of the world by selective breeding, that’s way the breed was named as Doberman after his death. This breed has the traits of Rottweiler, Dachshund etc.,

These dogs  not only trace the culprits by following the human's sebaceous odour but they are also trained to trace  illicit drugs , hidden mines and the  bombs. They are specially trained for  "sniffer vocabulary" consisting of  more than 10 different odors.
You would always have wondered how a dog traces a culprit.  But have you ever thought how it does so with utmost accuracy? - CLICK HERE TO READ MORE IN MY BLOG.
To me  they are the only species that do not know that they are risking their precious  lives  in the search of  disastrous things just to save the human lives. They sacrifice their life time just for us!
One such dog named  ZIMBA – a German Shepherd served in one of the Indian states- Tamil Nadu ( where I live) , was in the news after his death.
He served the police squad for 8 years from 2001 to 2008 and retired on 25.05.2009.
He was on his duty to guard the Prime Minister and Chief Ministers  and was helpful in discovering many bomb and detonator implants and could resolve attacks and saved many innocent human lives. He was a very affectionate dog  and highly respected by the police team for his  intelligence and discipline.
Unfortunately  we could not save him despite of intensive treatment as he suffered from tracheal cancer and the Blogger could see his lost rituals  in the local TV news which was captured and is shared with you here.

See the VIDEO – A Tribute to a Great Friend.
What soothes my heart is that he was given  a Ceremonial acknowledgment as an expression of esteem and admiration by his fellow men even after his retirement, remembering his  devotion while on duty.

THE BOND THAT CAN NEVER BREAK!
