Some people spared their life time by caring or creating love towards fellow animals.
We can’t forget .....
BUDDHA - Buddhism considers non-human life to be Divine just as is human life. Animals are seen to be an evolving kingdom of living creatures destined in time to attain perfect enlightenment. Buddhists were the first to build hospitals for the care of sick and injured animals.
RUKMINI DEVI ARUNDALE, an activist for animal rights and welfare,honored as '100 People Who Shaped India', awarded 'Prani Mitra' - Friend of All Animals from Animal Welfare Board of India), 'Queen Victoria Silver Medal' from Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals,addition to the roll of honor by The World Federation for the Protection of animals, The Hague.
St.FRANCIS ASSISI  is honored by the Catholic Church as the patron saint of animals and ecology.
JAMES HERRIOT – the country Vet who gave the world beautiful life time animal stories. 
WALT DISNEY – the animal characters that mesmerize you and makes you to forget your age (Baloo, Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Simba, Bambi, Dumbo…)
HENRY BERGH –who created ASPCA, an animal rights group.
CAPTAIN SUNDARAM - the blue cross of INDIA, the society that aims to alleviate the suffering of animals in India.
JIM CORBETT - of course,once a hunter but turned out to be a conservationist, author and naturalist,had empassied natural heritage and the need to conserve forests and their wildlife.
MARIA DICKIN - "the animals' Victoria Cross", Dickin medal to honour the work of animals in war.

This article is to make a special mentioning about DOUG LANDIS.

He became a mouth artist after an injury during high school wrestling match that made him totally paralyzed from the neck down. His love and concern for wild life made him to give to the world ...  some of his best pencil art with fine and intricate details. The sketch can take 40 to 200  hrs.
Perseverance, patience and his passion for animals could result to these master piece arts. Hats off to him!
